Finally, I got to see a Farmer’s Market in Telluride! The previous years, we stayed Sunday-Thursday and the market is on Friday. I was not going to miss this! This is one of the most progressive cities in the sustainable food movement. Eating local or regional is a non-negotiable to this small town. I knew the market would be great!
This is from Eamonn O’Hara, the man who runs the Rico Hotel and the executive chef at the Argentine Grille. He’s one of our favorite people to check in and visit with.
We enjoyed the market and found a quick lunch from a gyro stand. After assuring that all marinades and sauces were gluten free, I got a greek salad with chicken. He got a spicy lamb gyro. Both were really good!
After lunch, we took another quick tour around the main drag through town. We stopped first at Steaming Bean to stock up on our favorite blend, Black Canyon.
We found a lot of flowers.
And Flags
Historical buildings and homes
And to finish the day, we found more ice cream. I could get used to vacation ice cream.
Until next time, farewell Telluride!
