After another night of not sleeping well, I met Stephen for breakfast before early church services. He worked night shift and our usual meeting place is Jack’s. The coffee is good and they make a smoked sausage breakfast that works wonders in waking me up. This plate of sausage and cheese eggs is my usual order along with tea or coffee.
I’m still noticing things I’m missing that were in my bag that was stolen. I had run earlier that day so my headphones, pepper spray, Garmin, and hand-held Nathan bottle were in there. I notice they left a near new pair of running shoes and a mystery box from Amazon. They had no idea it was full of things for my classroom next fall. Those shoes would sell on ebay for 100$. But they took a cheap pair of headphones. I don’t get it. Also, headache medicine. My epi-pen. The list goes on.
After early services, Frankie talked me into a nap. He’s sneaky that way.
It’s been a few months since I started using essential oils for everything from sinus infections to just feeling blah. These 2 are my favorites for “get your sh*t together”. That’s blunt, but that’s how good these 2 work at productivity. I can diffuse these, and within a few minutes, I’ve knocked out a few weeks of lesson plans, newsletters, or blog posts before looking at the clock. The lime is more to complement the woodsy smell of the Highest Potential. I won’t call these euphoric, but there is a definite tunnel vision component.
Because I was still working a few hours later, the caffeine meter was low. I got a free sample of this Pie Spice from Penzey’s. I tried that in place of my usual apple or pumpkin spice in my coffee. It was a nice change without too much nutmeg. Lately, my low-carb, high-fat breakfast is coffee, butter, heavy whipping cream, and a spice (sugar free, spice only). When I finally get my act together and get back on paleo+dairy-baked goods…also known as…Keto, this coffee is a staple.
Happy Sunday!
