Start me up!

It’s been one of those days. And when those days happen, it’s tempting to dwell on the junk of the day and stick my head in the sand. Seeing how I don’t really like ostriches (one bit me…long story), I don’t need to look like one.

But it’s amazing how quickly perspective can change through unexpected surprises.

1. MAIL CALL!!

This afternoon, I got a package from my sister (in law). We are having Thanksgiving dinner at her house. This will be the first Thanksgiving since my father (in law) passed away from a 2 year battle with Leukemia. The table will be full of good people and great food, but missing someone very important to me.

Mona sent all of us a present. It’s an invitation to dinner, plus a reusable shopping bag that reads “Count your blessings”. She asks us to bring the bag to dinner with some blessings inside. It didn’t take me long to come up with some things that remind me how truly blessed I am.

2. The Little Things

I’ve been sick and nothing helps like a hot drink. Stephen fixed this for me. Now, this is not an ordinary hot drink. It has the PERFECT amount of Stevia powder, sugar-free cream, and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Someone has been paying attention. And that speaks volumes to me. And…the Crate and Barrel, Southern Living, and Penzy’s catalogues were on top of the mail stack. I wonder how that happened? 😉

3. Glee

It’s not just a show on TV. Okay, maybe it’s one of my top 5 shows on TV. But watching this makes me dance, shimmy, snap, and do the head shake. I’m blessed that I can physically do all of those and nobody is going to laugh (too hard) at me.

4. Frankie

No need for words. This little guy makes me happy
