Seasons

Baseball season begins March 27th. This is the year for the Braves. I just feel it!

Monday came back and apparently, I’m still alive to tell about it. We spent most of the afternoon watching the weather for approaching tornadic storms. Unfortunately, it is that time of the year for the Southeast. Spring tornado season. We’ve had some experience with tornadoes in my town. It’s been 7 years and I think I might finally be ready to talk about that time in my life. But I’ll save that for late April.

Today, I broke out one of my birthday presents from a hilarious friend of mine. The Alabama county map.

Spoiler alert: Storms went north of us and everybody was fine in our county.

I used this to identify the school systems that had an early dismissal for the approaching system. S.B. is for those systems out for spring break. Take a gander at that county in the middle. That’s my county. The City system closed at noon. That’s NOT my system. No, I’m in that County system that takes 2 hours to bus kids home due to large county with tons of backroads. That system decided to stay in school until 3 for a storm system forecasted to arrive at 1pm. Those other counties are just big fat fraidy cats and too chicken to gamble with the lives of thousands of kids. See, my school system loves to take a walk on the Vegas side and take their chances. Nothing happened. This time.

In other news, my run this morning was a total goof fest. I woke up with a face that looked like it went 9 rounds with Rocky Balboa. Allergy attacks all night lead to awful mornings. I walked more than ran but I got some activity in for today.
