Running Reflection

2018 Running recap

January 2018 is off to a smashing start.  By “smashing”, I mean I haven’t even turned on my Garmin. It’s colder than Elsa’s castle and I just haven’t felt like turning on the treadmill. I’m still fighting off this weird “flu-like” virus that keeps trying to jump on me every few days and I’m not ashamed at all for getting as much rest as I can. I know the spring semester at school can be brutal so I’m resting up.

When I have days like this, I don’t dwell too much on the loser aspect of it. I mean, running has been part of my life for over 10 years and it’s not going anywhere. What I am doing is working on my race calendar for 2018. Between the Rock ‘n’ Roll races I’m running as part of the Rock ‘n’ Blog program and some local races I want to run again, I will have a busy racing year. I’m looking at most of the southeastern races and a few local 5Ks plus a race out west in June. We are looking at our fall beach trip back to Cape San Blass and maybe the Apalachicola half marathon again.

That’s all I’ve got for this week. Next week, I hope to have my calendar ready and some miles under my feet!
