This week was a not-so-good week. I can pinpoint EXACTLY when things went downhill and it had everything to do with nutrition.
On Wednesday, I ate some rice at lunch and had a white potato in the late afternoon because I was craving carbs. Notice the cycle already? I had rice at lunch and was hungry for more carbs about 3 hours later. So I ate the potato. The next morning, my hands were so swollen, they hurt to bend. My face was twice the size it was on Tuesday. My first steps out of bed had me limping because PF (plantar fasciitis) was rearing its ugly head again. It was a really bad morning. My runs on Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday were terrible. Sluggish. Painful. Limping. Each day was a little better than the previous, but so far away from Monday’s run and the previous weeks during and immediately after switching to a grain free diet.
Lesson learned. If I want to indulge, I need to be aware of the results. This isn’t the first time rice has done this. Rice+white potato= disaster.
