In Honor of Dr. Seuss….Green smoothie and no ham.

Not quite Green Eggs and Ham, but on the day before his birthday, I was thinking Green!

At Whole Foods, I found the Amazing Grass/Amazing Meal smoothie mix. Thanks to Ashley, I found some courage to try the green stuff. BUT….I decided to throw in some blueberries since I do not get in nearly enough of those. This was a delightful purple color!

Green (disguised in purple) Smoothie

  • Pomegranate Mango Amazing Meal
  • 1/3 cup blueberries
  • 1 cup of skim milk
  • 2 Tbs of flaxseed

Since the smoothie turned purple, I used the green Crested Butte cup. Memories of the best vacation!

The claims of Amazing Grass:

  • increases and sustains energy naturally
  • Detoxifies and cleanses your body
  • High alkalinity helps balance your body’s pH level
  • Strengthens your immune system
  • Insoluble fiber gently cleanses your digestive tract and promotes regularity
  • Complete food with enzymes and all essential amino acids
  • Natural source of antioxidants to help repair damaged cells
  • Excellent source of beta carotene, folic acid and vitamin C
  • Whole leaf powder- not from juice!

The Verdict: Definitely increased my energy more than coffee. And that’s all I can tell for now. But one of these kept my hunger satisfied until lunch. And, my blood sugar LOVED it. No wild swings!

    Lunch/snacks:

    lunch

    • Cauliflower stuff and chicken
    • pear
    • carrots wth Tzatziki
    • cheese stick
    • grapes
    • almond butter
    • oranges
    • cashews

During the day and after school, I ate all but the grapes.

Dinner was something light. I was not very hungry. Rutabagas, peas and cornbread muffin! I love peas and cornbread.
