The drive from Whitefish to the East side of GNP takes about 2 hours to arrive at the gate. The drive is long, but it is definitely worth it. I can’t get over how the colors of these waters.
Our first stop in the park was Two Medicine lake and we also viewed the Two Medicine campground. The lake is crystal clear!
After lunch, we drove on up the East side to St. Mary.
One lone Kayaker on the lake. This was right before we saw the bear. The BIG bear.
This guy. Right here in the water. He was no baby bear. We had driven down to the pier to see the lake from that view. Just as we got our of the car and stood at the bank, park rangers came rushing down and told us and the kayaker to get in our cars and leave asap. They were chasing a bear out of the campground and over to our area.
Of course, we weren’t just going to leave. We stayed out of the way. Lucky for us, the bear jumped in the lake on our side and I got this with my zoom.
Beauty at sunset.
