Christmas Eve—Christmas Pizza

First, I ran 4 miles on the treadmill. It’s funny, I’ve always hated the TM, but with our unusually colder weather, it’s a lifesaver.

The hip is feeling fine lately, but if I don’t stretch, I’m in trouble. I foam roll daily and I think that’s the key to keeping that IT band tracking properly.

Now, since I believe in traditions and making your own, let me introduce a first for me. Homemade pizza.  This is my FIRST ATTEMPT at homemade pizza and I’ll go ahead and say SCORE!

I did use a refrigerated crust so I know I’ve lost some credibility there, but it’s my pizza and I’ll cook it my way.

I started with a fresh sauce of fire roasted tomatoes, fresh herbs, and some cabernet. I layered some turkey pepperoni, sundried tomatoes, red onions, sausage, black olives, and spinach.

One more Christmas tradition in the books and I say that’s a successful first attempt at homemade pizza. I think my grandma would be proud.
