Can it get any longer?

The first day back to school after spring break is a L_O_N_G one. It seemed like the day would never end. We had sleepy kids, yawning teachers, and stacks of paperwork a mile high on our desks. We are now in full zoom mode until May 20-whatever when we bid farewell to the school year. I don’t usually say this because the spring seems to crawl by, but this year…it has FLOWN BY. This is the start of the last 9 weeks of school…45 more days…and that means not much time to get training done for 2 half marathons. Yikes I feel pressured already.

And why is that?? It’s not like the world will end if I don’t PR in these races. Still. Pressure.

Hunger Games. I finished the first two chapters and I can’t get it off my mind. This might be a work of fiction…but I say anything is possible in a world with people who will fight to the death to be in full control.

Have I mentioned how much I love my bento box? Portion control made easy. I made a quick chicken broccoli alfredo using two Laughing Cow cheese wedges for dinner last night. And those tiny carrots and beans are great in steam bags. I eat them cold or hot.

The WOD today was tough. Who am I kidding? Every one is hard.

21-15-9 Snatch grip (wide grip in prep for a snatch lift) deadlifts (92#) and Overhead squats (42#). When I first read this, I thought..I love DL and I can squat like it’s my job since I seem to be missing hip flexors. This won’t be bad. WRONG! The problem with overhead squats is mobility. And I have really good mobility. It’s one of the very few talents I have when it comes to CF workouts. Once I get the bar locked over my head and behind my ears, I’m good and can squat low. It’s just getting it locked. 42# was really tough. In perspective, my max back squat (bar on back of neck) is 85#.   Anyway, I did it, it was fun, I was tired, but it was over.

The rest of the day dragged by. I got 2 miles of short intervals after school because I needed the stress relief.

Goals for today:

1. Drink a gallon of water/tea. Done!

2. Track food and workouts. Done! I use myfitnesspal because it has a HUGE food database. I stayed around 1600 today and earned 343 through workouts.

3. 11/100 push ups by Sunday.
