Whole 30 Day 4: A Snowy day!

I can’t believe it actually happened.

We got snow!!

Unfortunately, the powers that be at the school board didn’t believe it would snow, so we were at school and these are the only pictures I have. When the snow started, it was in near whiteout conditions. I have never seeen snow blow so hard and so fast and the flakes were HUGE!! It snowed so hard, the roads DID get slick and icy and school was dismissed early. But by the time the chaos of dismissal was over, we had to get home before the roads got worse. And by “worse”, I mean the sun came out and melted all the snow. Disappointed smile  Before it all melted, about 2 inches covered the ground.

It’s been 4 days since I started this crazy idea to eat just meat, fruit, and veggies. No grains, no OATMEAL (I’m crying inside), no dairy, no alcohol, no sugar, and therefore, no fun for 30 days. After I’ve cleaned out the potential health hazards, I can slowly add things (except SUGAR) back to my diet and gauge the reaction. Even after cutting gluten, I still have some residual inflammation and bloating and I highly suspect sugar. So, how is it going?

I have a small headache today and I’m not that hungry. I’m still REALLY sore from a crossfit workout and I’m just not pushing my return too much. I have managed to ignore the Coke machine and I haven’t really missed cheese and yogurt, which are my two main sources of dairy. The sugar craving is a hard one, but so far, it’s very manageable.

For breakfast, I had 2 breakfast cups.

Lunch was another bowl of chicken soup!

And dinner was a big plate of cabbage/sausage (chicken sausage from Target-no sugar or nitrates) and braised kale and carrots.

I’m hesitant to say too much, but this is not as bad as I expected. Looking forward to the weekend!!
